Face Lift Patient #3

This patient presented to Dr. Sweis complaining of overall facial aging. She was particularly bothered by her jowls and her neck. She was very concerned about the possibility of looking over-done and requested a very natural result that would allow her to look refreshed and more youthful. Upon physical examination, she was found to have thin tissues, jowls, and excess tissue along her neck. This patient underwent a SMAS (superficial musculo aponeurotic system) facelift with a neck lift. This procedure addresses the tissues beneath the skin, raising them to a more youthful position and allows a natural re-draping of the skin.

She also underwent peri-oral rejuvenation with Juvederm Ultra® XC placed in her upper and lower lips in an effort to add some volume to her lips and improve the folds around her mouth. Pulling tightly during the face lift to eliminate these folds would have stretched her mouth and given a very unnatural appearance.
