This 51-year-old patient was concerned with the extent of puffiness along his lower eyelids. He felt it made him look tired even when he was well-rested. Dr. Iliana Sweis performed a bilateral lower blepharoplasty with the removal of some of the fat from the three fat pads. The incision was made inside the lower eye lids (transconjunctival blepharoplasty) to address the fat pockets. This technique minimizes the chance of changing the lower eyelid position, and when there is no excess skin, this approach avoids external scars. A minimal amount of fat was removed from the three lower lid fat pads and repositioned along the tear trough. His photographs are before surgery and 3 months following his bilateral lower blepharoplasty.
