Eye Lid Lift Patient #11
Before

After

This is a 68-year old woman from Chicago who was unhappy with the appearance of her eyes, feeling they made her appear tired. She was particularly bothered by the skin folds of the upper eyelids and the puffiness and wrinkles of the lower eyelids. Upon physical examination she was noted to have excess skin of the upper lids, protrusion of the fat pads along both the upper and lower eyelids, and sun-damaged skin of the lower eyelids. The patient decided to proceed with an upper and lower eyelid lift procedure (blepharoplasty) with Fractionated CO2 laser resurfacing around the eyes. For the upper eyelids, Dr. Sweis removed the excess skin, a small strip of muscle and a minimal amount of fat along the medial fat pad (closest to the nose) that rests along the upper aspect of the orbit. For the lower eyelids, the incision was made inside the lower lid (transconjunctival eye lid lift), the protruding fat was repositioned along the tear trough to address some of the hollowness along the tear trough, with a minimal amount of fat removed. She is shown before surgery and 3 months following her procedure. She will continue to see some improvement in the swelling over the next few months.
